YT-317 is an industrial grade RS-232 signal to RS-485/422 signal to/from interface converter. It is a cost-effective data interface conversion product that can work stably in strong interference environments. It converts a single ended RS-232 signal into a balanced differential RS-485/422 signal to improve anti-interference ability during data transmission, and can extend the RS-232 communication distance to 1.2 kilometers. This product adopts a high-speed optoelectronic isolation design, further improving its anti-interference ability and working stability. It can be powered by an external 9-30V DC power supply, and is equipped with a zero delay automatic transceiver conversion circuit. The unique I/O circuit automatically controls the direction of data flow, ensuring that the program written in RS-232 half duplex mode can run in RS-485/422 mode without modification. The converter transmission rate is 300-115.2Kbps, It can be applied to form a point-to-point, point-to-multipoint remote multi machine communication network between the main control computer, the main control computer, the microcontroller, or peripherals, achieving multi machine response communication. It has the characteristics of small size, long transmission distance, high speed, and stable performance.

RS485 network wiring precautions:
1. The RS485/422 signal bus should use twisted pair or shielded twisted pair. When wiring, it cannot be combined with strong current (220V/380V) wiring. Combined wiring refers to the 485 network cable and strong current line running in the same pipe or close to each other (within 30cm). Generally, the RS485/422 signal line should be at least 0.5 meters away from the strong current line.
2. The RS485/422 bus connection should adopt a standard "hand in hand" wiring method, which means that the RS485/422 signal line starts from the control host to the nearest first device, then starts from the first device to the nearest second device, and so on, in order to minimize interference as much as possible. RS485 network wiring should avoid star connections as much as possible! Unless using an RS485 hub.
3. If there are many RS485/422 device points on site and it is not convenient to use hand in hand wiring, it is strongly recommended to use an RS485 hub instead of a single RS485 converter. The RS485 network with more device points should be divided into multiple blocks by region through the RS485 hub. Each block should still be wired in a "hand in hand" manner as much as possible. The transmission and reception ends of the developed RS485 hub should be high-speed optoelectronic isolation, The signals between each channel are also relatively isolated, and there is a fault isolation function between the channels. Even if one or more channels fail during the communication process, it does not affect the normal communication of the other channels.
